Factory resetting your device will clear all data from the extender with the adjusted settings as well. There are two methods to reset the Extender: one is via button and second is via web-based interface. After resetting your extender, we will instruct you how to re-configure your device via WPS or interface.

Resetting Extender through Button

There is a pinhole button on the side panel of the extender labeled as the RESET button. You can use a paper pin or pen to press it. You have to hold it for 10 second and release it. After that, the reset process starts.

Then, you should reconfigure the WiFi extender with the help of the RangeXTD WiFi booster interface window on your computer.

Resetting Extender through Interface

There is one more way to reset the device from the extender interface on your computer. Follow these instructions to reset the extender via interface:

1. Connect computer with the extender network via Ethernet cable.

2. Open the browser and search the default IP address 192.168.7.234.

3. A RangeXTD login page displays on the screen of the computer.

4. Enter the admin login credentials here and click LOGIN button to access the interface.

5. In this interface, find and open the Settings. Select the RESET option and click CONFIRM button.

The device will starting rese itself. After a few minutes, you should re-configure the extender through the same interface.

There are two methods to connect the extender with the host router: WPS or web-based interface.

Reconfigure Extender via WPS

1. Find the WPS button on your router. It's usually on the back or side and might be labeled as WPS.

2. Give a gentle push to the WPS button on your router. The WPS light on the router should start blinking.  

3. Now, navigate the WPS button on your RangeXTD booster. Press the WPS button on the booster.

4. The WPS light on the booster should also start blinking.

5. Both of the devices should now communicate and attempt to connect.

6. The link status lights on your RangeXTD booster will indicate a stable connection once the connection established.

Reconfigure Extender via Interface

1. Interface setup method will start with connecting the PC to the extender’s network with the help of Ethernet cable.

2. You can connect without any cable via SSID network keys. The SSID network credentials are given in the user manual.

3. Open computer’s web browser and enter the IP address 192.168.7.234. Search it by pressing ENTER key.

4. RangeXTD login page, enter the admin default username and password given in the user manual of the extender.

5. RangeXTD interface will open on your computer screen. Inside the interface, choose the host router WiFi network. Enter the password of the router and connect the extender to the router.

6. Click NEXT, and enter the new WiFi name and password. Click SAVE button to apply the settings. then the extender will reboot. To join the network after a restart, use new WiFi password that you have just created.

Other Troubleshooting Tips Than Reset

Rebooting RangeXTD Extender

Locate your RangeXTD extender and the power outlet it's plugged into. Carefully unplug the extender from the power outlet. Wait for about 10-15 seconds. This allows any residual power to dissipate. Plug the RangeXTD WiFi Range Extender back into the power outlet. Wait for the extender to power on and the indicator lights to stabilize. This usually takes a minute or two.

Use RangeXTD Booster in AP Mode

Open a web browser. In the address bar of the browser, type the default IP address of your RangeXTD extender. This is often 192.168.7.234. Once logged in, navigate the settings menu to find the Operation Mode. Select Access Point or AP Mode.

Choose a new name for your extended Wi-Fi network. This should be different from your main router's Wi-Fi name to avoid confusion. Create a strong password for your new Wi-Fi network. Choose a security type. Click on Apply to save your configuration. The extender will likely reboot.
